All Roads Lead to… Rhodes #Day 7
Not how it used to be
We started the day with a trip to Kallithea Springs — a lovely location, but unfortunately it is too early in the season for anything to be happening there. They didn’t even have any beds available for use.
As we moved on from there we noticed a little makeshift home for all the stray cats that Rhodes has (yes, there are a lot of them). It is called Kallithea Cats and is on the roadside by the beach. It has beds and food which is donated by the public. It’s nice to see that not all animals here are treated poorly.
After this we headed off to the delights of Faliraki. Of course, I’m old enough to remember when this was one of the most popular party destinations for drunk teens and twenty-somethings, however its reputation for craziness has diminished somewhat over the last few years. We spent quite a while looking through the shops here and enjoying lunch overlooking Faliraki Beach.
On our way home we were hoping to dip our feet in the water at Anthony Quinn Bay, but (as beautiful as it is) it’s quite a sharp inlet filled with rocky outcrops.
So we satisfied our need for the water when we got back to the hotel and jumped in the pool before getting ready for dinner.
